Nasya – Advanced Ayurvedic Nasal Detox Therapy

Nasya
Advanced Ayurvedic Nasal Detox & Neurological Restoration

What is Nasya?
Nasya is one of the five core detoxification treatments in classical Ayurveda (Panchakarma). It involves the precise, gentle administration of specialized herbal drops, medicated oils, or powders through the nasal passages.
In Ayurvedic science, the nose is considered the direct gateway to the brain and the nervous system ("Nasa Hi Shiraso Dwaram"). Therefore, Nasya is not merely a localized sinus clearing; it is a profound therapy designed to cleanse, nourish, and revitalize everything above the collarbone—including the sinuses, throat, sensory organs, and neurological pathways.
How Does the Therapy Work?
The nasal passages are rich in blood vessels and nerve endings that connect directly to the cranial cavity. During a Nasya session, the warmth and specific properties of the herbal formulations stimulate these nerve endings.
This stimulation liquefies accumulated toxins, stagnant mucus, and impurities trapped in the sinuses and respiratory pathways, encouraging their natural elimination. Simultaneously, the nourishing oils cross the mucosal barrier to lubricate the nasal tissue, calm an overactive nervous system, and restore balance to the Prana Vata and Tarpaka Kapha doshas.
Premium, authentic herbal formulations selected for your unique constitution
Specialty Herbal Formulations We Use
The choice of oil or herb depends entirely on your specific symptoms and body constitution. At Ayush Vriddhi, we use only premium, authentic formulations:
The classic choice for daily nasal health, preventative care, and strengthening the senses.
A potent formulation targeted at relieving chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, and persistent headaches.
Nourishing, milk-infused oils used to soothe dryness, relieve neurological exhaustion, and balance Vata.
Specifically utilized to alleviate the pressure associated with migraines and tension headaches.
Key Benefits of Nasya Therapy
Rapidly reduces inflammation in the nasal passages, clearing away stubborn mucus blocks, chronic sinusitis, and environmental allergy symptoms.
By releasing deep-seated vascular and nervous tension in the cranial area, it significantly reduces the frequency and intensity of headaches.
Stimulates neurological pathways, which helps clear mental fog, sharpens memory, and reduces stress or anxiety.
Regular therapy nourishes and improves the function of the eyes, ears, nose, and tongue.
By improving blood circulation and nutrient delivery to the scalp and head region, it promotes healthier hair growth.
Deeply relaxing to the central nervous system, making it an excellent therapy for snoring, sleep apnea, and insomnia.

Warm herbal steam preparation opens the channels before Nasya administration
The Session Experience
A standard Nasya treatment at Ayush Vriddhi is a precise 30 to 45-minute therapeutic process structured into three essential stages:
Stage 1 · Purvakarma
Facial Massage & Steam
The face, neck, and chest are gently massaged with specific herbal oils, followed by a warm herbal steam application. This dilates the channels and loosens deep-seated mucus and toxins in the sinuses.
Stage 2 · Pradhanakarma
Therapeutic Drops
While you lie comfortably with your head tilted back, the exact required drops of warmed medicated oil are carefully administered into each nostril. You will be asked to inhale deeply.
Stage 3 · Paschatkarma
Cleansing & Gargle
As the toxins loosen and drain into the back of the throat, you will spit them out. This is followed by a warm, herbal-infused water gargle or medicated smoke inhalation (Dhumapana) to completely clear the throat and mouth.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Nasya hurt or feel uncomfortable?
Not at all. You may feel a brief, mild tingling sensation in the nose or throat depending on the potency of the herbal oil used, which passes quickly. Our therapists ensure the process is gentle, controlled, and deeply comforting.
How many sessions will I need?
For preventive care, a short course of 3 to 7 sessions is ideal. For chronic conditions such as sinusitis or migraines, our practitioners will recommend a tailored treatment plan based on your assessment.
